Lawn Care Technician​/Pesticide Applicator – Field Service at Weed Man

For over 40 years, Weed Man has delivered top‑quality lawn care across North America, growing into the #1 franchise in the industry. We are hiring full‑time Lawn Care Technicians / Pesticide Applicators to join our team in Spencer, MA.

This is a route‑based, field service position where technicians visit properties daily, apply lawn and pest control treatments, and interact directly with property owners. During the off‑season, technicians generate leads by knocking on doors to offer free, no‑obligation quotes. Technicians must be self‑motivated, accountable, and comfortable working independently while representing the company professionally.

Starting pay is $20 per hour, increasing to $22 per hour once a Massachusetts Pesticide License is obtained. Technicians also earn 8% commission on add‑on services sold during routine visits, with additional earning potential based on production and performance. This is a full‑time position beginning and ending daily at the office in Spencer, MA. The workday starts Monday through Friday at 7 am, with occasional Saturdays and longer hours during peak season.

• Apply fertilizer, weed, grub, and pest control treatments
• Drive a company vehicle along a daily route and maintain clean equipment
• Deliver consultative customer service by explaining treatments, performing lawn care analysis and recommending appropriate services
• Recommend and close sales for add‑on services (8% commission)
• Knock on doors to notify customers of service, generate leads and referrals
• Meet production, sales and service goals
• Complete service and sales documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain professional personal appearance and demeanor
• Assist with equipment upkeep and support other technicians as needed

• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
• High school diploma
• Obtain MA Pesticide License within 3 weeks of start date
• 6+ months of experience in consultative, customer‑facing roles requiring face‑to‑face customer interaction and service recommendations
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk large properties daily and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable with door‑to‑door lead generation and recommending services
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Pass background check
