Corporate Tax Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to support tax accounting and compliance activities for an organization based in Spokane, Washington. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage corporate tax work accurately while partnering with accounting teams to maintain reliable financial records. The role will contribute to tax reporting, filings, and ledger accuracy in a fast-paced business environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax schedules, work papers, and supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

- Assist with sales tax compliance activities, including reconciling balances, researching issues, and helping complete required filings.

- Support the preparation of corporate tax returns by gathering financial data, organizing records, and validating information before submission.

- Partner with internal accounting and finance teams to collect data needed for tax calculations, accruals, and compliance reporting.

- Help maintain organized tax files and schedules to support internal reviews, external audits, and regulatory inquiries.

Requirements

- 1-2 years previous Experience working with corporate tax accounting and compliance responsibilities.

- Working knowledge of sales tax processes, reporting requirements, and related reconciliations.

- Familiarity with preparing or supporting corporate tax return filings.

- Ability to create and review journal entries with a strong focus on accuracy and documentation.

- Understanding of general ledger structure, account reconciliation, and month-end accounting processes.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research issues and resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet-based analysis and financial record management.
