Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Priority Tax Relief, a fast-growing tax resolution firm in Los Angeles, seeks a Controller to lead all accounting operations and financial reporting. You will own GL, AP, AR, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow, ensuring accurate, timely financials and strong internal controls. Partner closely with leadership to analyze performance, support strategic decisions, and maintain GAAP and tax compliance. In our client-focused, ethical, and collaborative culture, you'll mentor a small team, refine processes, and gain increasing responsibility as the firm scales.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and payroll for a tax resolution firm
• Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis to support strategic decisions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal audit requirements
• Partner with leadership to analyze performance metrics and support growth initiatives
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax professionals as needed
