Our agency is looking to fill a full-time, non-permanent Office Assistant (OA3) position within the Community Corrections Division. This position works for the Spokane Special Assault Unit (SAU) located at 1717 West Broadway, Spokane, WA 99201. This non-permanent appointment is expected to last about six months.
The Spokane SAU supervises a caseload of registered individuals who have been convicted of a sex offense by the Superior Court. Exposure to sensitive material is common.
Under general supervision from the Administrative Assistant 4 (AA4), this position performs file management and routine, advanced clerical support tasks for the AA4, Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS), and Community Corrections Officers (CCOs). Working independently, you will perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments and perform duties involved with working at the reception desk.
Work hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Primary receptionist for the unit: greet and direct clients, general public, and stakeholders to appropriate staff; manage a multi-line phone system; ensure main entry door unlocked at 8:00 am and locked at 5:00 pm; assist Special Needs Unit as needed.
- Provide general clerical support: manage electronic and physical files; enter and retrieve data from systems such as Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) and OnBase.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Six months of clerical experience with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Unrestricted driver’s license valid in the state of Washington.
- Two years of clerical experience with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Customer service and front counter experience.
- Experience with a multi-line phone system.
- Fourteen to twenty-five paid vacation days per year, depending on years of service.
- Eight hours of paid sick leave per month.
- Twelve paid holidays per year, including one personal holiday.
- One personal leave day per year, in accordance with CBA.
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
- Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP).
- Deferred Compensation Program (DCP).
- Position may work directly with or near incarcerated or supervised individuals in a potentially hazardous setting; take this into account before applying.
- Background and criminal record history checks will be conducted prior to employment.
- Pre-employment drug test may be administered; positive result may disqualify.
- Exposure to Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) aerosol pepper spray may occur; candidates with sensitivities or allergies should inquire about exposure level.
