Office Assistant Lead

Spokane, WA – DOC WFSE Monthly Salary Range 41: $3,807.00 to $5,074.00

Job Summary

Our agency is looking to fill a full‑time, permanent Office Assistant Lead (OAL) vacancy within the Community Corrections Division, supporting the Spokane Gang Unit at 1821 North Maple Street, Spokane, WA 99205. Under general supervision by the Community Corrections Supervisor, the OAL provides high‑level clerical and secretarial support to the supervisor and Community Corrections Officers and delivers customer service to supervised individuals, stakeholders, and community members.

Responsibilities
  • Review court orders, enter and retrieve data from the Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) system using specialized knowledge, technical skill, and independent judgment.
  • Manage files: setup, maintain, close, and archive.
  • Maintain and update a weekly caseload log.
  • Serve as receptionist, greet and confer with supervised individuals (S/Is) and the public, answering questions and directing them to the supervising CCO when appropriate.
  • Answer a multi‑line telephone system.
  • Provide backup support and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent; two years of clerical experience requiring keyboarding or typing.
  • Skills and Abilities: Reliable attendance; confidentiality; basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds; navigate internal databases; proofread written material; communicate effectively with staff, supervised individuals, public, and stakeholders.
  • Desired: Prior office experience; experience with database systems; additional Microsoft Office experience.
