Position: SUPPORT SECRETARY @ STEVENS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 6 HRS, CONT.

Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring a knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the students, staff and administrative staff. Works fairly independently, receiving minimum supervision and guidance.

SALARY:
Level 6 on the Secretarial/Clerical Salary Schedule. Experience increments depends on experience in the same or similar permanent position within a Washington State public school. DOWNLOAD SALARY SCHEDULE
  • Assist in the operation of administrative and student offices in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
  • Maintain communication with staff, students, and parents and community.
  • Maintain student records and cumulative files for incoming, current and transfer students. This may include demographic information, grades, assessment results, immunization records, student learning plans, IEPS, files, and vision and hearing.
  • Maintain and administer student attendance records and programs, ensuring accuracy for school, district and state reports.
  • Maintain student lunch accounts for mealtime program at site, including collections and low balance reminders.
  • Handle collections and banking of monies; including financial activities and special events.
  • Organize confidential records, supplies, and equipment for principal, staff, and students.
  • Assist with minor medical injuries, illnesses and may administer medication for students.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional secretarial courses preferred.
  • Minimum two years of recent secretarial or clerical work experience required, with School District experience preferred.
  • Ability to accurately type 40 words per minute.
  • Basic level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, payroll software, financial software (i.e., Intouch), nutrition services software (i.e., Mosaic), single point of entry software, and student information system (i.e., Power School) experience preferred.
  • First Aid card preferred.
  • Work Schedule – Days and hours (listed above) are subject to change depending on program and district needs.
  • Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays – Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement Collective Bargaining Agreements as negotiated.
