Secretarial/Clerical Substitutes
Applications are being taken for Secretarial/Clerical substitutes. Clerical testing is required. This position is on-call with no guarantee of hours and no benefits are offered. Secretarial/Clerical substitutes work when schools are open and will be called to work at all locations within Spokane Public Schools, so reliable transportation is important. Few, if any, substitute jobs are available during the summer months.

ResponsibilitiesPlease note that there is no training associated with this substitute position, so good experience in a multi-task environment is essential. Some aspects of the position include answering phones, word processing, data entry, medication aide, dealing with emergency situations, helping administrators, staff, office managers, and other secretaries with secretarial or clerical needs. Secretarial/clerical work at school sites are extremely busy and hectic - you may be required to deal with parents, students, staff, phones, and other duties at one time.
Flexibility and ability to deal with many situations going on at one time is required.
Work Schedule – Days and hours are subject to change depending on program and district needs.
Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays – Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
