At the Extra Mile Institute (EMI), we help teams enhance communication and align their culture with stated values through recurring 15-minute story-driven conversations called Step Backs. Our process includes pilot launches, facilitator training, behavioral assessment debriefs, and a digital content platform that equips internal leaders to sustain Step Backs within their own team and scale them across their entire organization. This is a growth-oriented, people-facing role designed to expand EMI’s capacity. It requires someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, thrives in relationship-driven environments, and wants to help grow the organization.
Primary Responsibilities (Top Priorities)Client Facilitation & Delivery
- Facilitate in-person sessions with Spokane-based clients, including Gonzaga teams
- Support delivery of assessments, debriefs, and guided conversations we call Step Backs
- Represent EMI with professionalism, warmth, and confidence in live settings
- Build and manage relationships with Gonzaga coaches, staff, and employees
- Nurture existing relationships in ways that naturally generate new connections and leads
- Act as a trusted point of contact for local partners
- Revise and contribute to EMI session content (slides, prompts, tools)
- Collaborate with the team to ensure content aligns with EMI’s tone, values,
- and standards
- Help improve clarity, usability, and consistency of materials used with clients
- across the county
- Contribute where needed across the business (operations, logistics,
- problem-solving)
- Take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
- Help increase overall team capacity and effectiveness
These are not the primary focus of the role, but the individual may help cover or
assist with some operational tasks—especially during a maternity leave period.
- Light administrative and coordination support (email, scheduling)
- Supporting client onboarding steps and internal documentation
- Client relations: coordinate teams from initiation to sustaining in the Step Back
- program, soliciting feedback, and gathering data to share with the team
- Helping streamline internal systems and processes over time
Note:
This role is not an administrative assistant position, but operational competence and willingness to help is important in a startup environment.

- Strong facilitation skills and comfort leading groups
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to follow through without oversight
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- CMPC certified, actively pursuing CMPC, or ICF certified / in training (CMPC mentorship to be provided)
- Background in athletics (former collegiate or professional athlete preferred)
- Experience with assessments, performance psychology, organizational psychology, or leadership development
- Administrative or operations experience in a small organization
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, or client management tools
- Experience facilitating workshops/keynotes with high-performing teams
