Job Summary

The Account Executive demonstrates new business development skills including networking and account management. They manage accounts and project teams in support of all project and daily work activities from project discovery and scope development through task or project completion. With a highly consultative approach, they deliver full client satisfaction throughout the entire order life cycle and build strong, sustainable customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, increasing sales in existing accounts, and driving revenue growth by meeting or exceeding sales quotas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as single point of contact for coordinating Workpointe activities, services, orders and personnel for each customer; is the conductor for the entire team.
  • Responsible for the Workpointe account team performance, including operational decisions made by team members.
  • Provide timely response to customer requests for products, services, and information.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of customer needs, company goals, business practices and satisfaction/performance criteria.
  • Serve as visible point of contact for the client/account by providing top‑notch account management and customer service, including personally delivering furniture samples, attending construction or weekly meetings, participating in punch walks, etc.
  • Responsible for all relations and ongoing relationships with customer personnel and client 3rd parties (contractors, A&D and PM firms, etc.).
  • Continually prospect the local market for new client and project opportunities.
  • Develop local business relationships with third‑party influencers (commercial real estate brokers, A&D firms, construction management and project management firms) to identify potential opportunities.
  • Produce plans, develop product specifications, generate detailed and accurate quotes in conjunction with Workpointe team and present to customer in timely manner.
  • Develop and execute service contracts and service level agreements.
  • Deliver responsible close of sale by obtaining signed proposals, terms and conditions, customer purchase orders and deposits.
  • Ensure obstacles and/or changes in scope are identified and resolved and that both the customer and Workpointe are satisfied throughout entire project life cycle.
  • Oversee and direct Workpointe implementation of all customer projects, work orders, and service requests.
  • Review and/or establish work plans, schedules and logistics.
  • Oversee work of all team members, including designers, project managers, account coordinators, and delivery and installation crews.
  • Provide (and prepare, if required) project and work order status reports.
  • Provide exceptional leadership and communication to customer and internal teams.
Organizational and Operational Interfaces
  • Work collaboratively with customer and 3rd‑party firms.
  • Manage internal and external team interfaces, including interface with subcontractors and manufacturers.
  • Manage team and lead assignments to ensure workload activities are appropriately balanced and supported internally.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Required participation in weekly Monday Sales Meetings, Monthly Staff Meetings and quarterly All‑Hands Company Meetings.
  • Support Customer Engagements such as Events, Neocon, or other customer‑facing exhibits.
  • Lead RFP work for opportunities with Market Engagement support.
  • Travel may be required.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required
  • In‑depth knowledge of all aspects of contract furniture products and dealer activities with an emphasis on account management, design, project management, and customer service.
