Location: Spokane Valley
Job Overview
Senior Compensation Partner – Remote, United States. Reporting to the VP, Total Rewards & People Operations, this individually‑contributed role partners with business leaders and People Experience Business Partners to guide compensation decisions and support multiple business units across Cambium Learning Group.
Job Responsibilities- Sales Incentive Compensation
- Translate sales strategy and go‑to‑market priorities into clear incentive plans and supporting documentation.
- Drive development and ongoing management of sales incentive plans, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Partner with Sales leadership, Finance, and Sales Operations to interpret strategy and translate into executable incentive plans.
- Provide guidance on incentive structures, pressure‑test assumptions, and identify risks.
- Draft and maintain plan documentation, including terms, conditions, quota sheets, and incentive communications.
- Present recommendations and analysis to stakeholders and facilitate approvals.
- Compensation Partnership
- Guide leaders and PXBPs on salary recommendations, job leveling, and pay competitiveness.
- Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses for broad‑based pay and variable compensation programs.
- Support job architecture, job evaluation, and leveling initiatives.
- Review compensation for job offers and provide guidance to Talent Acquisition and business leaders.
- Develop and present compensation recommendations that balance market data, internal equity, and business objectives.
- Compensation Enablement
- Build materials, guidance, and processes to help leaders and employees understand and apply compensation programs.
- Define and improve compensation processes, tools, and templates for clarity and efficiency.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
- Communicate compensation concepts clearly to stakeholders.
- Develop executive‑ready materials and maintain clear guidelines and guardrails for program design.
- Expertise in sales and incentive compensation within a Total Rewards, Compensation, or related function.
- Experience partnering with Sales leadership, Finance, and Sales Operations to develop and operationalize incentive programs.
- Proficiency in market pricing, benchmarking, salary structure management, and job leveling.
- High proficiency with Excel for building professional insights and summary materials.
- Experience working in Workday for compensation processes and data management (required); experience with incentive compensation platforms such as Xactly or Varicent is a plus.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills to explain complex compensation concepts.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make thoughtful, defensible recommendations.
- Self‑motivated, collaborative, and results‑oriented with a sense of ownership and follow‑through.
