The Manager, Commercial Insights & Strategy (CIS) leads a high-impact team responsible for translating market, customer, payer, and product-usage data into actionable commercial decisions that drive revenue growth, improve product mix, and increase forecast predictability. This role serves as the strategic commercial intelligence engine for the organization, owning long-range revenue and demand forecasts, market size and share modeling, customer segmentation strategy, and incentive compensation governance.
The CIS function provides the commercial inputs into S&OP’s demand phase, while partnering closely with Sales Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment and execution. The role reports to the Director of Marketing & Customer Experience and operates as an objective, data-driven partner to executive leadership, Sales, Finance, and Operations.
- Own the 5-year revenue forecast, including price and volume assumptions, aligned with Finance and translated to SKU-level projections.
- Provide Sales Operations with revenue and volume targets to support territory-level goal setting and sales planning.
- Own standardized executive commercial performance reporting, including forecast vs actuals, market and share dynamics, variance explanations, and implications.
- Lead development of forward-looking demand forecasts that improve predictability and inform manufacturing and supply planning.
- Own the demand phase of S&OP, partnering with Sales to capture SKU-level product demand and translating commercial inputs into a demand forecast. Provide validated commercial demand inputs.
- Own market size and market share modeling, leveraging competitive financial disclosures, payer/reimbursement data, market intelligence, and internal sales data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards that track market growth, share shifts, and competitive dynamics over time.
- Use payer, reimbursement, usage, and sales data to define and refine customer segmentation strategies, identifying growth opportunities and mix optimization levers.
- Partner with Marketing, CX, and Sales to inform targeting, messaging, and tactical adjustments by segment.
- Own Incentive Compensation (IC) governance, serving as the commercial firewall for plan design, modeling, committee alignment, and quarter-end reconciliation and payouts, in partnership with Sales Ops.
- Lead, develop, and prioritize the work of a high-performing CIS team.
- Establish best practices for modeling, documentation, data governance, and insight communication.
