The Project Coordinator III is an experienced project professional who supports the successful planning, execution, and delivery of Energy Delivery projects across Avista's electric and natural gas systems. Working in partnership with Project Managers and cross-functional stakeholders, this role provides project coordination and project controls support for a diverse portfolio of projects, including substations, transmission and distribution facilities, grid modernization initiatives, interconnections, customer-driven infrastructure projects, wildfire resiliency programs, reliability improvements, and other capital investments essential to the safe and reliable delivery of energy.

Operating within a collaborative, matrixed environment, the Project Coordinator III serves as a key member of project teams, helping drive consistency, accountability, and project success while supporting Avista's mission of enabling vibrant communities through safe, responsible, and affordable energy.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, drafting, and administration of project documents, including Statements of Work, Work Authorizations, Change Requests, Charters, and Project Management Plans.
  • Maintain Contract and Change Order logs and applicable working files.
  • Support proposal reviews to ensure compliance with contract requirements and assist with bid evaluations.
  • Reconcile contracted Statement of Work commitments with project deliverables.
  • Monitor and update project timelines, communicate schedule changes, and coordinate updates with internal teams and external partners.
  • Provide document control, meeting minutes, and accurate project documentation.
  • Prepare month end reports and update dashboards that include metrics achieved and scope/schedule/budget variances to baseline.
  • Review and process invoices, including coding and obtaining approvals; handle complex billing and resolve contract change issues as needed.
  • Analyze project costs and assist with project forecasts.
  • Interface with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist and support the facilitation and delivery of lessons learned post-project documentation.
Requirements
  • AA Degree
  • Five plus years of related experience, displays experience working with contractors, consultants and designers in creating Project Documents
  • Displays ability to lead small projects and complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Use of MS Project or equivalent project management/scheduling tool

Hiring Range: $32.70 to $42.18 per hour

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with additional day(s) determined by the manager.
