Visit Specialist

Facilitate healthy, safe, productive visits between foster children and their biological parents in order to strengthen their relationship and lay the groundwork for eventual reunification.

Reports to:

Visit Coordinator

• 21 years or older with at least a high school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license, driving record, and insurance
• At least 12 months of experience working with children and families
• Ability to develop positive relationships with people from marginalized populations
• Supportive of biological parents and reunification while keeping biases in check
• Effective communication, redirection, and de-escalation skills Ability to work variable working hours, with minimal supervision
• Regular access to a reliable phone and laptop (we are a BYOD workplace)
• Regular access to a reliable vehicle

• Schedule visitation times that account for the child’s routine, foster parent’s schedule, and biological parent’s availability.
• Transport the child to and from visits in a safe and timely manner.
• Supervise the visit, ensuring that all interactions between biological parents and child are safe and appropriate, intervening gently, respectfully, and assertively when needed.
• Provide the Social Worker and foster parents appropriate reporting about each visit.

Compensation $18-20 | 15–35 hours/week.
