ABOUT

THE ROLE
  • We are seeking a Civil Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our team and play a key leadership role in the successful pursuit, planning, and execution of complex civil construction projects. This position is ideal for experienced professionals who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is equally comfortable building accurate estimates, managing projects, and collaborating with field and executive teams
  • The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, proven judgment, and the ability to lead projects from concept through closeout
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, and site development
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks, opportunities, and scope gaps
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Participate in bid strategy, value engineering, and proposal development
  • Maintain historical cost data and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices
Project Management
  • Manage awarded projects from contract execution through final closeout
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
  • Coordinate with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and owners
  • Track project performance, manage change orders, and control costs
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract requirements
  • Lead project meetings and serve as the primary point of contact for owners and stakeholders
  • Work with other divisional estimators and project management staff
  • Work closely with operations and executive leadership to support company growth
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices across estimating and project delivery
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating and/or project management
  • Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Heavy Bid, B2W, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar)
  • Strong financial acumen, contract knowledge, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred
