Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Overview

Project Manager for a growing commercial construction company in the Spokane area. This full‑time position oversees all stages of commercial construction projects from start to finish. The role requires a deep understanding of the construction process, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. • Oversee and direct commercial construction projects from conception to completion.
• Review and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
• Implement cost control measures to ensure project profitability.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
• Review the work progress on a daily basis and make necessary adjustments.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and provide strategic planning for all project phases.
• Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations.
• Manage the risks of the project, including health and safety, financial, and reputational risks.
• Resolve any problems that may arise during construction.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
• Proven track record of managing large scale commercial construction projects from start to finish.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
• Excellent knowledge of construction cost control and strategic planning.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Proficient in MS Office and construction/project management software.
• PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an advantage.
