Q&D Construction, a top‑ranked general contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our Aviation Group team. Q&D’s Aviation Group focuses on work in and at airports across the United States, including new terminal buildings, support facilities, tenant improvements, equipment upgrades, vendor build‑outs, and airline‑specific construction activities such as branding and signage, gate relocations, ticketing and check‑in configurations, and back‑of‑house facilities.

The Q&D team of project managers, project engineers, and superintendents work in over 100 airports nationwide. We collaborate with clients within the framework of regulations, restrictions, and initiatives to develop cost‑effective solutions on their behalf. This position requires extensive travel and relocation to project locations.

• Communicate and reinforce the vision, values, and goals, including the IIF (Incident and Injury Free) safety program.
• Study contract documents to plan procedures for construction based on start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase; determine required tools, materials, equipment, and times to conform to schedules.
• Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting contract documents, and coordinating various phases of construction; collaborate with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
• Inspect work in progress to ensure quality workmanship that conforms to contract documents and adheres to construction schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures, and with all Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies.
• Verify that products and methods used meet or exceed project specifications.
• Maintain open communication between all contractors to ensure required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support project activities and the project schedule.

• Project experience $20M+
• Must have 10+ years of experience working in the construction industry.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience using similar construction methods, equipment, and tools; ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills and an ability to control and supervise large groups.
• Aviation experience is a bonus but not required.

As the Superintendent, you will be responsible for directing field construction activities such as collaborating with Clients, Project Manager, and Project Engineer to determine methods of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material qualities, equipment, and work schedule. You will supervise all craft foremen and craft persons in executing construction activities. You will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
