WAQTC Certified Special Inspector

Location: Hayden,  Spokane Valley, WA
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $26.00 – $35.00 per hour (depending on certifications and experience)

Overview:

A reputable construction services firm is looking for a WAQTC Certified Special Inspector to support inspection and materials testing across northern Idaho and eastern Washington. This field‑based role requires hands‑on expertise, strong technical skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field inspections and materials testing in accordance with WAQTC procedures and project specifications.

  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved plans and applicable standards.

  • Conduct testing and inspection of aggregates, asphalt, base materials, and in‑place densities.

  • Prepare accurate, timely electronic field reports and record test results on mobile devices.

  • Operate and maintain field/lab equipment such as nuclear gauges, density equipment, and sampling tools.

  • Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and internal team members.

  • Travel throughout the service region for onsite inspections.

Required

Certifications:

  • WAQTC
    :

    • Aggregate

    • Asphalt I

    • Embankment & Base

    • In-Place Density

Preferred

Certifications:

  • ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I or higher

  • Nuclear Gauge Safety Training

  • ICC Certifications in:

    • Reinforced Concrete

    • Pre‑Stressed Concrete

    • Structural Steel and Bolting

    • Structural Welding

    • Spray‑Applied & Intumescent Fireproofing

What You’ll Need:
  • Positive attitude and strong customer service approach

  • Excellent time management and attention to detail

  • Comfortable using tablets or mobile devices for reporting

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver 75 lbs with assistance

  • Willingness to drive to project sites throughout the region
