Encyclopaedia Britannica and Merriam-Webster. Britannica has been operating since 1768, and Merriam-Webster since 1831, and these digital-first brands now serve a global audience of more than 200 million users a month and over 14 million newsletter subscriptions – with reference and lifestyle content, games and interactive features.

The Studio Editor leads the execution of sponsored, branded, affiliate, and promoted content across all Britannica Group brands. This role sits at the intersection of Editorial, Product, and Revenue, ensuring high-volume programs run efficiently while maintaining brand standards and driving measurable revenue impact.

Location: Remote

• Write and edit advertising copy across a large newsletter portfolio (22 brands, 600+ placements monthly).
• Develop and refine branded content concepts (7-10 per month), and build client-ready pitch decks from approved concepts.
• Assign out and top-edit long-form branded content (600-1000 words) for all brands, including, but not limited to, Britannica and Merriam-Webster.
• Uphold Britannica’s high editorial standards, ensuring all copy is clear, accurate, engaging, and trustworthy.
• Partner with Sales and Account Management teams on client needs and approvals, rallying around client KPIs.
• Leverage available data to inform overall strategy, both on a granular, copyediting level and when brainstorming new campaigns.
• Support revenue reporting and partner performance tracking.
• Serve as the primary bridge between Editorial, Product, and Revenue, ensuring monetization strategies align with brand standards and editorial priorities.
• Serve as the co-owner of our Affiliate strategy, ensuring goals are met without compromising editorial decision-making.
• Oversee additional lines of business, like our Travel Deals emails and our Publisher Partnerships program, and be willing to top-edit, troubleshoot Airtable or Word Press errors, review performance, and sign off on I/Os when necessary.

• 7+ years as an editor focused on advertorial, branded, or editorial content at a large, consumer-facing publication or media group
• High-volume publishing or newsletter experience
• Strong copywriting and editing skills, with a portfolio to demonstrate that
• Ability to work across multiple lines of business and an understanding of the intricacies of each (Branded Content, Commerce Content, Syndication Partnerships)
• Proficiency with Airtable, Word Press, and Google Workspace

• Affiliate or performance media experience
• Experience doing client-facing pitch work
• A rich understanding of the media landscape and current monetization trends
• An understanding of the sales process and account management
• Clear communicator who knows how to speak to multiple teams and audiences
• Experience doing revenue reporting, forecasting, and partner performance tracking
