Washington State University's Office of the Provost and WSU Health Sciences Spokane, are now accepting applications for a part-time Photographer 2. As the Photographer 2 you will serve as a creative strategic partner to college, campus, and university system units. You will be a key contributor to WSU Health Science Spokane's visual storytelling efforts, capturing a wide range of subjects, including campus life, classroom settings, events, specialized research, and clinical environments.

You will work under the direction of the Office of the Provost and in close collaboration with the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, with approximately half of your time dedicated to the college's visual communication strategies and projects. Your duties as Photographer 2 include but are not limited to planning, producing, and editing high-quality images that reflect WSU's brand expression and support enrollment, research, and advancement goals across digital and print channels.

Additionally, you will oversee image asset management, ensure compliance with university policies and accessibility standards, and you will offer creative and technical guidance to campus partners.

Percentage Breakdown of Duties:

  • 35 % - Photography
  • 25% - Project Planning & Development
  • 25% - Editing & Asset Management
  • 10% - Creative Strategy & Consultation
  • 5% - Other Related Duties

This is a part-time (80 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3,524.80 to 4,742.40 prorated at 80% FTE | Range 48 ($4,406 - $5,928 at 100% FTE). In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in still photography, including one year as a Photographer 1; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated professional-level experience with DSLR camera and equipment.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, or similar programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative environment and also work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM
    7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on Mac computers.
  • Experience working in a higher education or similar institutional setting.
