JOB DESCRIPTION– Body Shop Customer Service Representative
Pay Range: $18.00/hour - $22.00/hour

We are looking for a motivated, customer focused individual to join our body shop team as a Customer Service Representative. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with people, and is looking for long term growth within the automotive repair industry. This position offers hands on training and clear pathway for advancement as an Estimator within the shop, and we’re committed to developing the right person into a long term, valued member of our team.
Responsibilities- Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner as they enter the body shop office and determine the nature of their visit.
- Answer incoming phone calls in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner and schedule estimates, route calls to the correct individual, answer basic questions, or take a thorough message.
- Call customers to schedule estimates for incoming assignments, call scheduled customers to confirm drop‑off date, perform follow‑up calls on delivered vehicles within 24 hours of delivery, and provide periodic updates on status of vehicle.
- Prepare customer delivery packets and ensure they are ready to go for vehicles leaving that day.
- Utilize a variety of databases to post parts invoices daily and ensure returned parts invoices are accurate.
- Keep workflow rental dates current with in‑shop vehicles.
- Provide customers with brochures and other information.
- Assist with clerical duties, collect information, and run reports as requested.
- Uphold a professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- A team player focused on providing exemplary customer service.
- Self‑motivated and hardworking.
- Proficient computer skills, working ability of Word, Excel, etc., and ability to learn database management software. 10‑key typing preferred.
- Excellent oral, especially phone, and written communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret documents.
- Must be patient and calm in demeanor.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
- Pass a criminal background check and credit check.
- Required pre‑employment drug test (note: we do not test for marijuana during pre-employment testing).
- Also subject to random drug testing, reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, and post-accident testing at the company’s request.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Customer Service Representative physical requirements include: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift or move items at least 20‑50 pounds.
Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, low vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
Team Members regularly works 40 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member will typically be in the Body Shop office area, but may be required to spend time on the Body Shop lot. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment at times, but typically the environment is quiet and calm.
The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderately loud. If walking through the Body Shop or the Service Department, employees may be exposed to loud noises and dangerous work environments.
