POSITIONSUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The CSV Pool Cashier delivers exceptional customer service levels and guarantees member satisfaction. The CSV Pool Cashier promotes an atmosphere that is friendly, courteous, accurate and highly efficient to maintain positive relationships with the members, program participants, and staff.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor in person and on the phone while handling a variety of tasks and customer inquiries
- Maintain a till drawer, collect money, make change, and reconcile till drawer at the end of each shift with a high degree of accuracy
- Register participants in City of Spokane Valley Pool programs, using proficiency in YMCA programs, facilities, and services
- Accept and process cash transactions for all programs, services, and sales.
- Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines in the aquatic area, while explaining to members the reasoning behind the rules
- Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA/CSV policies and procedures
- At least 15 years of age
- One to two years of experience working with the public, as well as cash handling experience.
- Completes program-specific training upon hire
- Be familiar with basic computer operations.
- Must have attention to detail and mathematical skills
