Dental Hygienist – Unify Community Health, Northeast Community Center, Spokane, WA
Dental Hygienists at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic are vital members of the care team, delivering patient‑centered preventative care while practicing at the top of their licensure. In addition to providing high‑quality clinical services and patient education, hygienists collaborate closely with dental providers and clinic leadership to support efficient clinic operations, promote long‑term oral health, and advance YVFWC’s mission of improving access to care for underserved communities.

Position Highlights- 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
- EMR system: EPIC
- $49.10–$60.76 per hour, DOE
- $10,000 Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure:
- At Hire: $3,000
- At 180 days (6 months): $4,000
- At 12 months: $3,000
- Bonus prorated based on FTE
- Eligible for loan repayment

- Provide preventative periodontal care, including scaling, prophylaxis, root planing, sealants, and application of preventative agents
- Perform expanded functions as permitted by licensure, including placing and carving restorations and managing temporary crowns
- Take and manage dental X‑rays; complete periodontal charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia as needed
- Educate and counsel patients on oral hygiene and preventative care; develop dental hygiene treatment plans in collaboration with providers
- Assist providers during exams and ensure operatories and instruments meet infection control standards
- Support clinic efficiency, quality initiatives, and compliance with TJC, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- WA:
Active Dental Hygiene License or Limited Dental Hygiene License - CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Dari/Arabic/Russian preferred at a level 10
- This position is eligible for Bilingual Differential Compensation when an ALTA score of 10 is achieved
- Knowledge of standard dental practices and current hygiene concepts
- Ability to deliver care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- High level of manual dexterity and coordination
- Basic computer proficiency (Electronic Dental Records, Outlook, Word, Excel)
