Primary responsibilities of the dental hygiene clinical instructor are:
- Interact with the students and patients for the benefit of the patient's oral health care.
- Provide written and oral feedback to students, evaluating their clinical performance in an objective and positive manner.
- Assist students in supervising clinic check in and check out procedures in a timely manner.
- Model professionalism in all manners of conduct and presentation.
- Follow the same requirements for dress code, piercings, hair, shoes, PPE, etc. as the students in the course they are instructing.
- Be familiar with clinic course syllabi, particularly with regards to clinic requirements by accepting enrollment and reviewing documents in appropriate CANVAS courses.
- Use CANVAS learning management system for student assessment and grading. Utilize iPad and or laptop computers for clinical and laboratory assessment and grading.
- Be knowledgeable of the content in the Clinic Policies and Procedures Manual, providing suggestions for future editions of the manual.
- Be prompt in attending assigned clinical sessions.
- Be responsible for planning and implementing assigned stations for clinic workshops.
- Attend regularly scheduled faculty in-service meetings.
- Regularly receive training in educational methodologies.
This is an in-person position at our downtown Spokane campus.
Salary Information - $35/hour with bachelors in Dental Hygiene and registered hygienist in WA $40/hour with bachelors in Dental Hygiene and a masters in related field and registered hygienist in WA May become eligible for benefits after 6 months.

- Appointment as a Part-time Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor does not confer any right to subsequent appointment. This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16.
The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
