Salary InformationThis is a full-time, tenure track position with an entry level base salary (for a 175-day academic year contract) of $71,096 - $108,630 annually. Future advancement in base salary, up to the current maximum of $108,630
, is based upon a combination of years of service accrued at our college and professional development activity.
Annual salary is comprised of base salary plus any combination of academic year overload contracts, summer effort contracts, project stipends, student club advising stipends, and/or department chair program lead faculty stipends consistent with the provisions of the current collective bargaining agreement between Spokane Colleges and the Association for Higher Education (AHE).

About the Natural Resources Instructor - Tenure-Track - Spokane Community CollegeMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least two years (24 months) of demonstrated field-based experience in freshwater fisheries.
- Master’s degree in fisheries science, fisheries management, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following skills:
- Field identification of regional freshwater and anadromous fish across life stages
- Sampling and population assessment methods commonly used for regional freshwater and anadromous fish
- Aquatic and riparian habitat assessment and evaluation
- Experience and knowledge in the following areas:
- Hatchery and aquaculture techniques
- Common regional fish diseases
- Management of game fish
- History and current management of anadromous fish in the Columbia Basin
- Technical, cultural, and economic factors influencing management and restoration of regional anadromous fish
- Regional fisheries regulatory frameworks
- Watershed processes and land-use impacts on aquatic habitats
- Initiative and leadership to develop and advance the Freshwater Fisheries AAS program, including building partnerships with hatcheries, developing field sites, creating curriculum, and collaborating with agencies and Tribes.
- Commitment to student-centered learning, teamwork, and the mission of the college.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years of field-based fisheries experience.
- College teaching experience.
- Experience collaborating with Tribal, State and Federal agencies.
