The Learning Content Coordinator serves as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the agency’s learning management system (LMS), ensuring efficient and effective delivery of training programs. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining instructional materials, managing training records, and providing guidance to employees and managers on LMS utilization. The role involves auditing training programs, monitoring compliance, and collaborating with internal departments to design and improve learning initiatives.
Strong communication and organizational skills and attention to detail are essential to support STA’s training and workforce development goals.
- Become the subject matter expert of Spokane Transit’s learning management system (LMS).
- Train department managers and employees how to utilize the LMS effectively.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees who need assistance with the LMS.
- Assist in creating a plan to consolidate existing training records into one location (LMS).
- Manage training records within the LMS.
- Audit agency training programs as needed to provide performance and quality feedback to Supervisor.
- Develop a standardized process for managing training requests from internal departments.
- Collaborate and work closely with internal departments to design training programs.
- Design and develop instructional training content for a variety of learning delivery methods, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid.
- Ensure content is version-controlled, up to date, and aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Organize, catalog, and maintain learning materials within the LMS or content repository.
- Support content refresh initiatives based on performance data and organizational needs.
- Document processes, templates, and best practices for content development.
- Assist with audits, compliance documentation, or accreditation needs.
- Support consistency in tone, format, and learner experience across content.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Run reports to ensure all required training is completed within appropriate time frames.
- Notify department managers of any close-to or expired training for their employees.
- Support Agency performance metrics by providing training data on monthly or as needed basis.
- Regularly participate in departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing training and development strategy discussions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with other departments.
- Assist with departmental administrative tasks such as paying invoices, scheduling meeting rooms, ordering training materials and supplies, and more.
Training & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Three years of professional experience in a role that included training material development and content management. A combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be acceptable. Experience working in a larger organization (500+) and a union environment is desirable.

Physical Requirements
The physical activity of the position requires the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, grasp, bend, and talk. The sensory requirements of the position include visual acuity to determine color, depth, and field of vision, and the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound. Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbent is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
Computer Skills
