Position Summary

Serving as an Adjunct at Whitworth, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of students and create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Detailed Salary Information
Bachelor's degree with significant experience:
6-9 credits | $6,816 - $10,224 per semester
Master's degree:
6-9 credits | $7,350 - $11,025 per semester
Ph.D.:
6-9 credits| $7,908 - $11,862 per semester
Core Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in a specific area of expertise within the College of Arts and Sciences, which may include courses in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, or interdisciplinary programs.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development, evaluation, and enhancement of course materials, syllabi, and teaching methods to ensure relevance and alignment with the college's educational objectives.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with developments in your field of expertise and in pedagogy.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow faculty members, department chairs, and college administration to contribute to the overall mission and goals of the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Adherence to Policies: Abide by Whitworth's academic policies and procedures, ensuring an equitable and ethical teaching and learning environment.
  • Qualifications and Core Competencies
    • Master's degree in a relevant field. Bachelor's degree with significant experience.
    • Prior teaching experience, either in higher education or a related setting, is an advantage.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
    • A passion for teaching, a commitment to academic excellence, and a dedication to student success.
    • Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter you will be teaching.
    • Willingness to adapt to various teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
