Position Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation
* Conduct comprehensive psycho educational evaluations and re-evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
* Analyze and interpret assessment data and prepare clear, comprehensive evaluation reports that identify student strengths, needs, and recommendations.
* Conduct student observations and provide written summaries to support evaluation and intervention planning.
* Develop practical, research-based recommendations and interventions aligned to student needs identified through assessment, observation, and team collaboration.
* Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and support the development of Positive Behavior Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans as needed.
Student Support and Intervention
* Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and related service providers to support students who are at risk of academic or behavioral difficulties.
* Support multidisciplinary teams in developing and monitoring individualized interventions and supports for students.
* Provide consultation and guidance to staff and families regarding behavior management strategies, social-emotional supports, and academic interventions.
* Provide social skills instruction, counseling support, or small group interventions for students as appropriate.
* Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement academic, behavioral, social, and functional support for students.
Collaboration and Communication
* Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, manifestation determination meetings, behavior support meetings, and other student support meetings as needed.
* Clearly communicate assessment results, recommendations, and intervention strategies to families and school teams.
* Coordinate and collaborate with outside agencies, service providers, and community resources to support students and families.
* Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with students, families, staff, and community partners.
Compliance and Professional Responsibilities
* Interpret and implement federal, state, and school regulations, policies, and procedures related to special education services and tiered intervention frameworks.
* Maintain organized and timely records, reports, and documentation in compliance with FERPA and all applicable legal requirements.
* Manage and prioritize responsibilities to ensure the timely completion of evaluations, reports, and compliance requirements.
* Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and ongoing training opportunities.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Valid Washington State ESA (Educational Staff Associate) Certificate with School Psychologist endorsement.
* Master's degree, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
* Successful completion of an approved School Psychology internship program.
* Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and procedures, including IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and Washington Administrative Code (WAC) requirements.
* Experience conducting psycho educational evaluations and interpreting assessment data for eligibility determination and educational planning.
* Ability to write comprehensive evaluation reports and communicate findings clearly to staff and families.
