Spokane Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates who are prepared and excited to provide a 21st century learning environment that effectively addresses the emerging necessity of social emotional supports and blending learning strategies.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to join our specialist team teaching Music to students Kindergarten through Eighth Grade at Ruben Trejo Dual Language Academy. As a dual language Spanish‑speaking school, proficiency in both English and Spanish is essential.
Qualifications- Fluency in both English and Spanish to teach in both languages.
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a dual language or immersion program.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong understanding of bilingual education principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, students and parents.
- Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment.
- Passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development related to bilingual education and teaching strategies.

Start Date:
2026‑27 School Year - Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision through the SEBB program for employees working at least 630 hours per academic year. Additional benefits may include vacation, sick, personal days, and paid holidays.
- Most positions have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule, all in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements.
Requires a Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Music Endorsement. The Professional Education Standards Board (PESB) provides additional endorsement requirement information through their site; PESB Course and Endorsement Lookup.
SalarySalary depends upon applicable prior certificated experience, approved credits, earned degrees, and the FTE of the position. Current salary and stipend information is available from the district.
