Job SummaryThe Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (CSEE) at Eastern Washington University (EWU) invites applications for a lecturer position to begin September 2026. The role will teach introductory undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, including CS1 (Java), CS2 (Java), C & Unix Programming, and Cybersecurity Fundamentals.

Required Qualifications- MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Proven ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible teaching approach that supports diverse student needs.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Pass a comprehensive background check.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship for work visas.
- Compliance with EWU Immunization Policy and proof of MMR vaccination.
- College‑level teaching experience with strong student evaluations.
- University funds accountability and supervision of students under 16.
- Background check and security clearance requirements.
- Vaccination compliance.
- Required training via Canvas and Workplace Belonging training.
- Interview may be conducted via Zoom; candidates must demonstrate competence with video technology.
Standard physical and mental demands associated with teaching positions. Employees may be required to follow university, local, regional, and state mandates for public safety and personal protection.

- Teach undergraduate courses and assess student learning.
- Attend all scheduled classes.
- Plan, organize, and communicate course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations, and grading methods.
- Schedule and hold office hours.
- Submit grades per established deadlines.
- Engage in professional development and participate in a 45‑credit workload per academic year (to be determined at hire).
