OverviewGod has called Inter Varsity to plant and build witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus on college and university campuses. Through these groups, we believe ever- increasing numbers of students and faculty from all ethnic groups and areas of the campus will be transformed by the Gospel. We expect to see campuses increasingly become places where people, ideas, and structures flourish to the glory of God.
This is the essence of being a Campus Staff Minister (CSM). This position is open to applicants working less than 40 hours/week. If you are interested in part-time work please apply for this position. The pay range listed is for an employee working 40 hours/week at CSM level I. Pay will be prorated for employees who work less than 40 hours/week.
Commitments & Responsibilities
- Spiritual Growth:
Pursue a vibrant relationship with the triune God through engagement with Scripture, prayer, and worship, both individually and in community. Develop self‑leadership, embrace scriptural standards for behavior and attitudes. - Campus Leadership:
Increase the number of witnessing communities, and the size, health, spiritual maturity, and campus‑wide influence of existing witnessing communities of students and faculty by being a Visionary Guide, Structural Architect, and Missional Developer. Lead students and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship experiences. - Organizational
Collaboration:
Work with a national network of Inter Varsity staff and volunteers to reflect Biblical standards of excellence, integrity, and partnership. Contribute to collaborative team meetings and relationships, use national ministry resources and tools, complete reporting, planning and review requirements, and comply with Inter Varsity policies. - Ministry Partnership Development:
Develop a team of partners – churches and individuals, including alumni and community members – who will resource the ministry financially, in prayer, or volunteer service. Raise 100% of the financial budget assigned, communicate regularly with partners, nurture long‑lasting relationships, and comply with all Ministry Partnership Policies.
- Annual affirmation of Inter Varsity’s Statement of Agreement, Code of Conduct, Human Sexuality Theological Paper, and Women in Ministry Statement of Confirmation.
- Bachelor’s degree required for assignments to four‑year campuses; a minimum of an Associate’s degree required for two‑year campuses or community colleges.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, demonstrated problem‑solving, and familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.
Physical Requirements
Travel to on‑campus and off‑campus sites as appropriate, including student ministry conferences and training sessions. Use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: $39,288.00 – $52,392.00 per year. Position is funded through personal fundraising; compensation will vary based on the ability to secure a donor team.
