Job Title:

In-District Only, Extended School Year (ESY) Motor Therapist

(per estimated enrollment there should be two (2) positions available; positions are dependent on enrollment).

Director of Special Programs

Work Schedule:

TBD in conjunction with the staff and families. This is a temporary position.

Salary: EVSD certificated salary schedule, per diem rate.

Job Summary:

The District is seeking applications for this certificated position for the 2026 Special Education ESY program. The ESY program will be operating on a split schedule. Actual days, instructional time, and the location of the instruction will be determined by the Director of Special Programs. This posting applies to the 2026 Special Education ESY program only. Specific student counts and information is available from the Support Services office when response is received from parents.

Essential Job Functions:

This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:

* The Motor Therapist will provide occupational/physical therapy instruction to identified special education students and will document progress and success of the ESY program through data collection on goals, services, needs, and attendance.

* Assist in upholding and enforcing school district rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.

* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

* Requires the use of multiple communication systems, such as electronic mail and computers.

* Inspect the worksite for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.

* The employee shall maintain a consistent presence at the assigned work site(s) and work the regular work hours specified by the contract.

* Professionally interact with colleagues, members of the public, and students.

* Comply with all District policies and all applicable laws.

* Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor.

* Demonstrate understanding and ability to implement a trauma informed learning environment where the needs of the whole child are accounted for in classroom design.

* Understand and apply current educational developments and instructional methodologies.

* Flexible in learning new concepts and adapting to a variety of assignments and conditions.

* Communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written forms.

* Display enthusiasm, optimism, and motivation towards teaching and student learning.

* Participate in school, district, and community events.

* Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds or 33% of body weight, whichever is less.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate certificate with appropriate degree and certification/license.

* Must be able to attend a summer school planning meeting prior to the start of the extended school year.

* Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.

* Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility. Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).

* I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act. Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and may be exposed to infectious diseases carried by children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.
