Work Schedule:

7.5 hours per day, 184 days per year, starting at the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year.

Salary:
East Valley Certificated Salary Schedule, $59,310 - $119,456 depending on placement per degree, credits, and experience.

Job Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the principal or designee, this teaching position will plan instruction, teach, motivate, inspire, and assess students. This teaching position will promote a high-quality education program that reflects state standards.

Essential Job Functions:

This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:

* Plan standards-aligned instruction - design and deliver lessons aligned to Washington State Learning Standards using district curriculum, pacing expectations, and instructional frameworks.

* Implement blended and self-paced learning - integrate technology to support a blended, self-paced, and mastery-based learning environment consistent with the Modern Classroom instructional framework (training provided).

* Differentiate instruction - use flexible grouping, scaffolds, and targeted supports to meet diverse academic, linguistic, and social-emotional needs.

* Create a positive classroom climate - establish a predictable, inclusive, trauma-informed learning environment with high expectations for all students.

* Implement PBIS Tier 1 practices - teach, model and reinforce school wide expectations through consistent, respectful, and restorative behavior supports.

* Use assessment to guide instruction - administer formative and summative assessments, analyze results, and adjust instruction to support student growth.

* Participate in PLC collaboration - engage in Professional Learning Communities to examine data, plan instruction, and monitor student progress.

* Communicate with families - maintain regular, clear communication with families regarding learning goals, classroom expectations, and student progress.

* Maintain accurate records - document attendance, grades, assessment data, and other required information in accordance with district and state guidelines.

* Engage in professional learning - participate in district and school professional development, coaching cycles, and ongoing learning related to curriculum, instruction, and equity.

* Collaborate with colleagues - work effectively with grade-level teams, specialists, counselors and administrators to support student success.

* Ensure student safety - take appropriate precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities; follow all district policies and legal requirements.

* Fulfill additional responsibilities - perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

* Promote the district's educational goals by attending and participating in teacher-parent conferences and any other related activities.

* Exhibit flexibility, high-stress tolerance, reliability, punctuality, and confidentiality.

* Maintain a consistent presence at the assigned work site(s) and work the regular work hours specified by the contract.

* Comply with and uphold all district policies and all applicable laws.

Required Skills:

* Create a trauma-informed learning environment - demonstrate understanding and trauma-informed practices and design a classroom that supports the whole child.

* Apply current instructional methodologies - use evidence-based instructional strategies, including blended, self-paced, and mastery-based approaches aligned with district frameworks.

* Implement differentiation strategies - adapt instruction, materials, and assessments to monitor progress, and adjust supports within an MTSS framework.

* Communicate effectively - communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written forms with students, families, and colleagues.

* Demonstrate professional collaboration - work effectively with PLC teams, specialists, counselors, and administrators to support student success.

* Model PBIS-aligned practices - reinforce school wide expectations and contribute to a positive, predictable, and inclusive school climate.

* Integrate technology effectively - use district-supported digital tools to enhance instruction, assessment and student engagement.

* Exhibit professional dispositions - demonstrate flexibility, reliability, confidentiality, cultural responsiveness, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.

* Engage in ongoing professional learning - participate in professional development, coaching, and continuous improvement aligned to school and district goals.

* Participate in school and community events - contribute to the broader school community through involvement in events, activities, and initiatives.
