Teal Media is hiring a full-time Messaging Strategist to join our collaborative, mission-driven team!

In this role, you’ll lead major writing efforts across Teal and our clients—shaping everything from brand narratives to digital copy. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, strategists, and clients to craft creative visions and bring them to life through clear, compelling messaging. Projects will range from brand language development (mission, vision, values) to storytelling, website copy, email campaigns, video scripts, social posts, and more.

You’ll also serve as a guide for clients through the writing and editing process, helping ensure their message lands with clarity and impact.

What You’ll Do

Execution

  • Lead brand strategy & messaging phase in large, complicated, inter-connected projects to ensure that there is a unified understanding of project vision, goals, requirements, and expectations for the strategy between all members of the team at the onset of a project
  • Proven expertise and creativity in crafting messages across digital and print media channels
  • Proven track record of taking complex ideas and translating them into easy-to-understand messages for diverse audiences
  • Experience with qualitative research methods and analysis (ex. Interviews, focus groups, surveys) and translating those outcomes into recommendations and messaging products
  • Devise the core brand language for client projects, including but not limited to brand identity (name and tagline), values, mission, vision, voice and tone, personality, key differentiators, about statement, organizational narrative, elevator pitch, boilerplate, key messaging frameworks for target audiences, etc.
  • Lead, produce, and contribute to messaging deliverables for client projects and Teal marketing efforts (Copy for websites, social media posts, emails, paid advertisements, video scripts, print materials, and more)
  • Expert at negotiation, conflict resolution and giving direct honest feedback (internal + client)
  • You develop a plan to achieve priorities and ensure that deliverables are on time and on budget
  • Evaluate opportunities in projects for upsells
  • Serve as one of the expert leaders for Brand Service area when it comes to case studies, biz dev initiatives and inquiries, as well as general project process needs
  • Showcase team leadership through leading interconnected projects that require multiple Teal services (Brand, Websites, Digital Marketing, etc.) to devise presentations, workshops and facilitate a seamless experience for client stakeholders connecting business & audience goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments directors in creating efficiencies and improving processes and products to help set core group-wide standards for quality control, process, and methodology to help create seamless integration of brand strategy & messaging
  • Collaborate with other departments leaders in major methodology shifts to improve revenue, employee retention, and reinforce Teal values
  • Establish an open, honest environment for formal and informal critique sessions. Encourage team participation. Provide constructive feedback.
