TEMP SEASONAL - ACRYLIC PAINTING INSTRUCTORThe Corbin Art Center is seeking an experienced painting instructor to join our team in providing life enriching art programs to the Spokane community. As our painting instructor you will be responsible for developing and delivering a diverse curriculum that encompasses acrylic painting techniques, while providing an inclusive learning environment. Classes are for beginner to intermediate students where you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the fundamentals of painting while encouraging them to explore their own unique artistic voices.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement art curriculum and lesson plans
- Teach fundamental art techniques and concepts
- Guide students in exploring various art mediums and styles
- Provide constructive feedback on student artwork
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
- Stay updated with the latest art trends and educational techniques
- Inspire and motivate students to pursue their artistic interests
- Encourage students to experiment and express themselves creatively
- Manage classroom supplies and materials
- Teach acrylic beginner and intermediate classes
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Previous teaching experience in an academic or community setting
- Degree in Art or related field
- Proficiency in a wide range of art techniques and mediums
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- Flexibility and adaptability in teaching methods
- Knowledge of art history and contemporary art trends
- Patience and attentiveness to individual student needs
- Creative problem‑solving skills
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development
- Proven ability to teach and mentor students
- Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in classroom management
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Familiarity with safety practices for art materials and tools
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to exercise proper care of equipment and facility
