Job PurposeThe Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) in Foley Center Library seeks a part‑time lab‑based Adjunct Instructor to support faculty and student research in the DSL, and instruct students staffing the lab. This position reports to the Digital Scholarship & Publishing Librarian and collaborates with faculty and staff from other departments/schools to develop outreach and programming for campus on DSL tools and software.
The adjunct lab coordinator partners with the library for equipment maintenance, supplies, and space management to support instruction and scholarship growth. The role focuses on point‑of‑need instruction, planned programming, and mentoring 6 student employees who staff the space.
- Develop student employees into peer trainers and research consultants.
- Instruct students, faculty, and staff in digital scholarship techniques, using DSL software and equipment.
- Plan and execute workshops and outreach for campus on DSL tools and methods.
- Develop publicly available learning resources for asynchronous use by campus community.
- Collaborate with Library Leadership on daily operation, lab offerings, budget, scheduling student employees, service hours, equipment and inventory management, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with Library Leadership on policies and procedures for Digital Scholarship Lab usage to ensure efficient and equitable access.
Bachelor’s Degree with experience in digital scholarship tools and methods.
Advanced computer skills (high‑performance computing or coding in Python, Arduino, R).
