Position SummaryVarsity Slowpitch Softball (Fall Season) – temporary extracurricular role for the 2026-27 season.

- Ensure school policies, rules, and regulations are carried out as outlined by the building principal/activities coordinator and the activities handbook.
- Provide direct supervision and conduct of the team until students are dismissed from the building or returned to class.
- Conduct the program in a professional manner and develop student skills and attitudes.
- Ensure the principal is informed of any program changes.
- Administer the activity regarding insurance requirements, parent/guardian approval cards, maintaining team roster, accident reports, accountability of uniforms, team transportation, and security of athletes' personal property.
- Emphasize safety precautions and be aware of best training and injury procedures; current first-aid certification is highly recommended.
- Distribute information/activity schedules to building principals, secretary, parents, and participants.
- Attend meetings as called by the activities coordinator; pre‑ and post‑season meetings are required as part of the coaching contract.
- Care for and maintain equipment for the activity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
- College degree or college training preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is a minimum qualification.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students and the ability to motivate them toward developing a successful program.
- Understand the activity, its safety practice, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development, evidenced by coursework and successful coaching experience.
- Be able to instruct students in the techniques and requirements of the activity.
- Plan practices, events, and organize all necessary materials and persons to carry out the sport/activity.
- Consistently meet scheduled responsibilities for practice, coaching preparation, competition, and related activities.
- Work independently and/or cooperatively under supervision.
- Work with all student coaches, colleagues, and other staff in a positive, professional, and equitable manner.
- Have physical stamina to conduct the sport/activity and withstand various weather conditions.
- Implement the policies and rules/regulations as outlined in the school activities handbook.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage through the SEBB for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year.
