Job SummaryThe LAP Interventionist / MTSS Facilitator provides leadership and support in the implementation of Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and targeted intervention services for students experiencing academic, attendance, behavioral, or engagement challenges. This position collaborates with administrators, counselors, teachers, families, and support staff to identify student needs, coordinate interventions, monitor progress, and support positive student outcomes.
Essential Functions- Serve as the building MTSS facilitator, coordinating intervention systems, guiding implementation efforts, supporting staff, and ensuring timely identification, intervention, and progress monitoring for students in need of additional support.
- Provide intervention services through a primarily pull‑out model while collaborating with classroom teachers through consultation, occasional push‑in support, and student observations to assess needs, monitor progress, and support the implementation of effective intervention strategies across educational settings.
- Review academic, attendance, behavior, and engagement data to identify students requiring additional support.
- Participate in and facilitate intervention planning meetings, progress reviews, and follow‑up activities.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor intervention plans and documentation for identified students.
- Coordinate intervention schedules, support services, and student placements within established systems.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, support staff, families, and community partners to support student success.
- Support staff in implementing and documenting Tier I interventions prior to referral for additional supports.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and relationship‑based support to students through established intervention frameworks.
- Provide direct intervention services to students identified as academically, behaviorally, attendance, or engagement at‑risk.
- Support students in developing organization, executive functioning, self‑advocacy, study skills, goal‑setting, and academic planning strategies.
- Monitor student progress through grades, attendance, assignment completion, and other performance indicators.
- Assist students in accessing tutoring, reteaching opportunities, intervention programs, and other support resources.
- Monitor intervention effectiveness and recommend adjustments based on student progress and data analysis.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students to promote engagement, belonging, and school connectedness.
- Maintain regular communication with students, families, and staff regarding intervention plans and student progress.
- Partner with school teams and programs to support student engagement, attendance, and overall success.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required by district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and district initiatives related to MTSS, intervention services, and student support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Washington State teaching certificate with a secondary level endorsement, or the ability to obtain said Washington State teaching certificate prior to the first day of school.
Essential Criteria- Knowledge of and skilled in effective instructional practices and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of MTSS frameworks and intervention practices.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, meet established timelines, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with state and federal law.
- Ability to articulate and implement Washington State Standards.
- Cultural competency; ability to effectively work with diverse populations.
- Skill in analyzing and utilizing academic, attendance, behavioral, and assessment data to make instructional and programmatic decisions that support student growth.
