Work Schedule:
6 hours per day, 184 days per year, starting at the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year.
Salary:
East Valley Certificated Salary Schedule, $47,448 - $95,564.80 depending on placement per degree, credits, and experience.
Job Summary:
The Multilingual & Title I/LAP Teacher provides targeted instruction and intervention services to multilingual learners (ML) and students identified for Title I/LAP support. This position integrates English language development and literacy intervention using evidence-based instructional practices aligned with district curriculum, MTSS frameworks, and federal/state program requirements. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and building leadership to design and implement instructional plans, analyze student data, monitor progress, and support differentiated instruction.
This role promotes a high-quality, inclusive learning environment that accelerates student growth and supports the district's educational goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide targeted instruction in English language development and literacy using evidence-based strategies aligned with district curriculum.
- Develop and implement language acquisition support plans and intervention plans for identified students.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques including small-group, individual, and inquiry-based learning.
- Integrate competencies, goals and objectives into lesson plans aligned with district guidelines.
- Support differentiated instruction in collaboration with classroom teachers.
- Teach effective communication skills and academic language across content areas.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom climate that supports the needs of multilingual learners and students receiving intervention.
- Administer and analyze assessments for language proficiency, literacy and academic progress.
- Use district data platforms to monitor student growth and adjust instruction.
- Facilitate screenings to identify students at risk or below grade level.
- Maintain required documentation for ML, Title 1, and LAP programs.
- Participate in PLCs using data to close achievement gaps. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement instructional and intervention practices.
- Communicate with families regarding student progress and support strategies.
- Promote parent engagement through outreach and participation in school events.
- Uphold district policies, maintain student records and follow required procedures.
- Maintain consistent presence at assigned work sites and contracted hours.
- Implement trauma-informed practices that support the whole child.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management for large groups, small groups and individuals.
- Build positive relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide social and academic guidance to support student success.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching certificate, no later than the first contracted day of the school year with appropriate endorsements as required by law and regulations.
- ELL endorsement and K-8 endorsement required;
Reading endorsement preferred. - Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.

- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
