Job Purpose:

The Mathematics Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for an adjunct position beginning for the Fall 2026 semester. We seek well-qualified applicants who can teach a range of lower-division undergraduate Mathematics courses (especially business calculus). Candidates should be committed to pursuing excellence in teaching and to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Functions
  • Teach 3-6 credit hours of courses in the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Hold office hours as determined in consultation with the Department Chair.
  • Create and grade exams and assignments, including submitting grades according to established deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.A. (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance learning, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics
