Lecturer - Psychology

Job Summary

Eastern Washington University’s School of Psychology is hiring a full‑time Lecturer specializing in School Psychology for the academic year beginning September 16, 2026. The position is one year, renewable, and requires candidates to reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater Spokane‑Cheney area.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including Introductory Psychology, Great Works in Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Research Methodology, Senior Capstone, and graduate courses in School Psychology. Final courses are determined with the Chair.
• Supervise students in research, practicum, portfolio, and internship projects.
• Collect, retain, and disseminate course and program data for accreditation and professional standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instruction, and student supervision.
• Participate in weekly School meetings, college and university meetings, retreats, graduation ceremonies, and program collaboration teams.
• Engage in program‑specific work groups and work actively in the School of Psychology.

• MA, MS, or EdS in applied Psychology, School Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent, with university‑level teaching experience.
• Proficiency in teaching psychology courses, demonstrated by coursework, teaching experience, research, or publications.
• Experience with computer tools including word processing, database, email, and instructional technology.
• Background in clinics, mental health agencies, schools, or related settings providing school psychology, counseling, or clinical services.
• Strong interest in diversity, social justice, and community‑based education.
• Ability to teach in online and hybrid formats using synchronous and asynchronous components.
• Responsive and flexible approach supporting all students and staff, including universal access.

• Ph.D., Psy.
  
  D., Ed.D., or ABD in Clinical Psychology, Applied Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, Counselor Education, or School Psychology.
• Experience teaching graduate‑level psychology courses.
• Commitment to quality teaching and student development.
• Experience advising students and supervising practicum/internship and research.
• Eligibility for credential as a certified school counselor, licensed mental health counselor, certified school psychologist, or licensed psychologist.
