The primary role of the outside-of-school time program activity leader is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Spokane Schools students to participate in activities outside the school day. Hours may vary based on student participation.

Morning:
Mon 7:30-9:15, Tues-Thurs 7:30-8:15 a.m. Afternoon:
Mon-Thurs 3-5 p.m.

1. Supervise and coordinate activities for groups of youth outside the regular school day. 2. Ensure that participants have proper waiver and clearance.
3. Implement hands-on learning activities that are grade-level appropriate for the youth served.
4. Maintain provided equipment at the school.
5. Ensure participants follow safety procedures in accordance with SPS 6. Coordinate schedules and procedures with 21st CCLC Site Coordinator.
7. Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with all participants.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

1. Proven experience in education and/or coaching and the ability to safely supervise a variety of ages during a variety of activities. a. Preferred:
Qualified for a Washington State teaching certificate; experience in school supported by Title I 2. Ability to engage students in a positive and professional manner.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Ability to adapt and modify if necessary.
5. Working knowledge of current best practices in activities or academic program content.
6. Experience leading and working with adults and K-12 students.
7. Working knowledge of current communication technologies.
8. Physical ability to lift/carry/push up to 50 pounds.
9. Current or pending First Aid/CPR certification (or the ability to get certified)

Work Schedule – Days and hours (listed above) are subject to change depending on program and district needs.

Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays – Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement as negotiated.

When employees meet plan requirements and retire, they are guaranteed a monthly benefit for the rest of their life from the employer-funded pension.
