Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Mechanical Design Engineer position based in Spokane, WA.

Summary

Responsible for design & development of a wide range of stainless‑steel products and to provide technical support to all departments and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following)
  • Mechanical design of structural stainless‑steel vessels and various support products
  • Create prototype designs, build and test as needed
  • Prepare, lead & present at interactive design reviews
  • Create accurate 3D models
  • Create BOMs, quotes, drawings, work instructions, specification sheets, reports
  • Identify critical dimensions for incoming inspection
  • Understand cost impact of new design
  • Participate in cost reduction events
  • Create engineering changes as required, help provide suitable disposition
  • Engage in brainstorming ideas for new products
  • Design fixtures or fabrication support products
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem‑solve effectively
  • Assist supply chain in identifying components, specifications, lead‑time
  • Work with suppliers to determine capability, efficiency, capacity, cost, availability to supply products
  • Support the Sales team by providing models, drawings, and documents as requested
  • Build a strong relationship with the fabrication team, interface regularly, resolve product issues quickly
  • Foster good relationships with all departments
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service at all times, internal & external
Requirements/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Three years mechanical design (minimum)
  • Proficiency in solid modeling, Solid Works preferred
