The Water/Wastewater Practice is seeking a Project Manager in Spokane, WA;
Boise, ;
Coeur d’Alene, ;
Pocatello, ; or Salt Lake City, UT.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and design for municipal (special purpose district and/or city) water and wastewater systems, including:
- Conveyance and pumping systems
- Storage and distribution systems
- Collection systems and treatment facilities
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
- Oversee project financials including forecasting, invoicing, and profitability.
- Ensure project closeout and client satisfaction.
- Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables such as plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and design standards.
- Serve as Engineer of Record or technical lead on projects.
- Serve as primary point of contact for key municipal water/wastewater clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify new opportunities and support proposal development.
- Represent DEA at industry events and professional organizations.
- Lead and mentor project teams.
- Provide direction to task leaders and technical staff.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE license required or ability to obtain.
- 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with a focus on water and wastewater systems.
- Strong experience in municipal water/wastewater system design.
- Experience managing municipal projects through multiple phases of delivery.
- Proven ability to lead design tasks and coordinate project teams.
- Familiarity with public agency processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory coordination.
- Experience supporting full project lifecycle from planning and design through construction.
- Proficiency with standard engineering tools (hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets).
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
