What You’ll Be Doing- Work on a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design projects involving steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
- Implement design or analysis tasks using a variety of building codes.
- Assist in the preparation of drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Execute the construction‑administration phase of projects, including bid assistance, submittal review, site meetings, observations of completed work, etc.
- Plan and conduct site investigations to document existing conditions.
- Help mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
- Interact with project clients.
- Support proposal development, project scoping, and coordination of internal resources to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Pursue professional activities to gain professional recognition.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood frame structures for a Consulting Engineer role. Proficiency with behavior and performance of materials. Will consider more experienced applicants for Senior Consulting Engineer roles.
- MS in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- PE license; progress toward SE licensure or interest in obtaining it is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, TMS, NDS, and other applicable standards and codes.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design tools such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP
2000, and Revit. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive, team‑oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation, and if applicable, an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

The below range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, work location and job title level.
Base salary is part of SGH’s industry‑leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGH’s Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.
This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign‑on bonus.
Consulting Engineer, Consulting Architect or Project Consultant II: $93,600 – $120,120 USD
Sr. Consulting Engineer, Sr. Consulting Architect or Sr. Project Consultant: $106,600 – $149,240 USD
