Job SummaryAssists in providing technical support to engineers and production personnel on new product development, developing tests to enhance processes, product cost, and product quality; monitors testing, compiles test data, solves problems, and provides support for operations issues.
Responsibilities- Conduct design of experiments, schedule test requests, and monitor progress of testing through facilities.
- Collect, compile, and analyze test data for engineers.
- Assist in procurement of parts, components, and documentation for models and prototype builds.
- Assist engineering personnel in the specification, design, and installation of production equipment.
- Prepare and review process routings.
- Assist with preparation of detail and assembly drawings, and equipment specifications for production equipment.
- Provide technical analysis and input for process changes and equipment enhancements to increase utilization and production quality.
- Interface with production to troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues.
- Provide training to maintenance personnel and transition support for new equipment.
- Attend meetings as needed to support organization activity.
- Interface with customers as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to achieve corporate and departmental objectives that are outside normal job duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline.
- Entry‑level position; limited experience needed.
- Ability to operate and have knowledge in using MFG PRO software or similar manufacturing software.
- Ability to use ProE or Solid Works for product design review and manufacturing process.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to assign cost‑analysis criteria to projects and determine potential cost savings.
- Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, statistics, and permutations.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and determine critical parameters and develop process controls.
- Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, handling abstract and concrete variables.
- Read and understand PCA assembly drawings and technical notes.
- Demonstrate technical writing and effective oral and written communication to management and technical staff.
- Provide training to audiences of varied sizes.
- Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; write and understand routine reports, follow instructions, speak effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills; work with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of standard office equipment and commonly used email, Internet, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- One to two years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in contract manufacturing and EMS industry; supporting offshore manufacturing facility.
- Reading, writing, and speaking Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese.
