Networking Engineer – Hill AFB, UT

JT4 is hiring a Network Engineer for the Hill AFB, UT location. The role requires leading technical coordination, architecture, and expertise for the Range Communications Network (RCN).

• Lead Network Architecture & Design:
  Architect, engineer, and modernize the RCN, focusing on Juniper (MX, QFX, SRX) and Cisco routing and switching platforms.
• Design & Document Solutions:
  Generate comprehensive design specifications, system architectures, rack elevations, and configuration templates to guide technical staff during installation and deployment.
• Architect Advanced Services:
  Engineer and deploy core network services, including VLANs, VPLS, MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.
• Architect Data Center Solutions:
  Deploy Juniper QFX hardware supporting VXLAN and EVPN technologies.
• Engineer Network Security:
  Implement network security baselines, including access control and firewall integration (Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA) and support DoD Suite A/B encryption environments.
• Architect Monitoring Solutions:
  Design, implement, and optimize network monitoring and management platforms (Solar Winds) with alert thresholds and automated responses.
• Provide Technical Leadership:
  Serve as a Tier3/4 escalation point for complex, service‑impacting network anomalies.
• Manage Wireless & RF Communications:
  Provide RF communications engineering and integration for DoD wireless networks, including point-to-point, point‑to‑multipoint, and MANET radio systems.
• Provide Technical Project Support:
  Maintain technical responsibility for tasks, generate BOMs, develop technical test plans, and coordinate with Program Management.
• Liaise with Stakeholders:
  Act as a primary technical liaison for test activities, design reviews, and working group meetings, interacting with customers and project managers.
• Investigate & Innovate:
  Analyze complex network problems, propose innovative solutions, and provide data‑driven recommendations to leadership.
• Perform other job‑related duties as required.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution and eight years of engineering experience, or Master of Science with six years of experience, or Doctorate with four years of experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts and practices for consultative services.
• Strong experience with Juniper networking technologies, including configuration, troubleshooting, and support.
• Experience architecting Juniper‑based network environments.
• Ability to apply the latest developments to solve complex problems.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and engineering tools.
• Well‑developed leadership skills.
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions from a broad perspective.
• Excellent communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Salary range: $47.89 – $68.75 per hour.
