Associate Electrical Engineer

Owen Thomas Group. A client is seeking an Associate-level Electrical Engineer to work on Data Center projects across the country. This role can sit remotely with sporadic visits to offices on the East Coast. Data Center experience and SKM proficiency required.

Annual Bonus

• Lead electrical design efforts for greenfield and retrofit data center projects
• Define electrical system requirements and coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection teams
• Develop and refine office design standards for Data Center and Mission Critical sectors
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated and reliable technical solutions
• Coordinate with sustainability and energy teams to optimize for energy efficiency and carbon reduction while ensuring 24/7 uptime and resilience
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and third-party commissioning agents
• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and seminars to share expertise and build presence in the mission critical sector

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience in facility design and construction environments
• Proven experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of data center power distribution systems, UPS, standby generation, and associated infrastructure
• Proficiency with Revit or similar design software
• SKM experience required
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred
• Experience with switch gear, UPS systems, PDUs, power monitoring, and grounding systems
• Familiarity with emergency power systems and reliability-driven electrical design
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E
• Experience integrating electrical systems with building controls and monitoring platforms
