CAD Technician
Transportation Jobs with David Evans and Associates:
The Bridges and Structures Practice is seeking a CAD Technician in Spokane, WA.
What You’ll DoKey Responsibilities
- Produce detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and graphics for a variety of transportation structures including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, and steel designs.
- Translate engineering markups into polished construction documents, maintaining precision and consistency.
- Use state-of-the-art software such as AutoCAD, Micro Station
, and
Open Roads Designer
. - Support design tasks under the direction of licensed engineers using industry standards such as AASHTO
. - Maintain structured drawing files, adhere to company drafting standards, and support project-specific standards as needed.
- Collaborate through file-sharing systems like Project Wise and participate in quality assurance reviews.
- Track quantities, update contract drawings, and contribute to project success within scope, budget, and schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of drafting experience with a focus on bridge or structural engineering projects.
- Associate of Applied Science in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency in Micro Station/Open Roads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
.
- Experience with transportation projects and/or Idaho Transportation Department, Washington State Department of Transportation, and City and County of Spokane projects.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for precision.
