The Opportunity
WSDOT is currently seeking a Project Delivery Engineer to provide strategic leadership for the North Spokane Corridor Project Design Office and help deliver one of the state's most significant transportation improvement programs. In this critical role, you will guide project delivery and business operations to ensure transportation investments are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with agency commitments. Your leadership will support the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions that enhance mobility, strengthen communities, and support economic vitality across Washington.

What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this Project Delivery Engineer will:
* Direct and monitor office-wide project delivery activities to ensure compliance with WSDOT policies, procedures, schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and delivery commitments.
* Evaluate project risks and advise the Project Engineer on impacts to scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and project delivery, recommending corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
* Provide leadership for work planning, resource coordination, project endorsement, and project closeout activities in collaboration with team leaders.
* Develop, oversee, and present office-wide reports on project budgets, schedules, delivery status, performance metrics, and project milestones for regional and headquarters leadership.
* Direct and oversee Value Engineering (VE), Cost Risk Assessment (CRA), and CVEP activities to support sound project planning, decision-making, and successful delivery.
* Lead consultant management activities by identifying consultant needs, developing task orders, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets in coordination with the Regional Consultant Liaison and project teams.
* Administer consultant agreements, monitor consultant performance, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and compliance with WSDOT standards, and review and approve consultant invoices for payment.
* Analyze consultant performance, delivery risks, budget impacts, and project status, providing recommendations to the Project Engineer to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple transportation projects, priorities, schedules, and deliverables in a complex project delivery environment.
* Project Analysis &
Risk Management:
Demonstrated ability to analyze project information, identify risks and issues, and develop recommendations related to scope, schedule, budget, and delivery commitments.
* Relationship Building:
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal staff, consultants, external agencies, and project stakeholders.
* Communication:
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical and project information to leadership, project teams, and external partners.
* Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support engineering and technical staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
* Project Delivery Knowledge:
Knowledge of transportation project delivery practices, engineering documentation, consultant management processes, and project coordination principles.
* Workload Management:
Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple competing assignments, coordinate tasks effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.

It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
* Consultant Management:
Experience managing or coordinating consultant agreements, task orders, and contract deliverables for transportation projects.

Experience supporting delivery of large-scale or complex transportation infrastructure projects.
* Project Evaluation:
