Position: Metallurgical Engineer 1

Wagstaff Inc, a global leader in financial services, seeks a Metallurgical Engineer 1 to support materials and equipment reliability across its financial infrastructure. In this entry-level role, you'll assist in evaluating, testing, and improving metals and components used in data centers, secure facilities, and critical banking systems. You will analyze performance and failures, support R&D on new materials, and collaborate with engineering, IT, and finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and optimization of metallurgical processes for financial data infrastructure and transaction systems
  • Analyze performance of metal-based systems in data centers, vaults, and secure facilities supporting financial operations
  • Conduct failure analysis, materials testing, and quality assessments on components used in critical financial equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, IT, and finance teams to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Assist in implementing standards, compliance, and risk controls related to materials and equipment used in financial operations
  • Support R&D initiatives focused on new materials, durability, and cost efficiency for financial infrastructure assets
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and materials issues across global facilities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and innovation projects
  • Participate in team meetings, knowledge sharing, and professional development activities
